First of all you can't launch homebrew,games,apps any kind of program all will give blackscreen even toggle QA Flag will give blackscreen so you can't install lower firmware (noBD versions) if your console is not already QA flagged you can follow on of those two method depending one what cfw you are on or which method you see it easier for you :)

Hey guys i wanted to know if i can remove the hard disk of my playstation 3 and copy games on it via a SATA to USB cable to my pc and put it back to my playstation. Will the playstation ask to format the HDD and use again?

I originally had REBUG4.84.2 converted to DEX. I want to update to the latest CFW. I think it's now 4.86.1 REBUG LITE EDITION. Do I need to convert back to CEX before installing the latest firmware?

Hello everyone,

I recently converted my console from CEX to DEX. I've tried to install ps3 4k pro but no matter what I tried I couldn't get it to work and it left all of the homescreen icons blank. Now I'm in the process of reformat ting the ps3's hard drive. My question is once its finished formatting, do I reinstall official firmware or do I reinstall CEX or DEX rebug firmware?



Edit: I forgot to say, my ps3 is a ps3 slim.

Simple PS3 CFW question...

Hi guys, just modded my PS3 a few days ago for the first time, the only reason I did so was because my disc version of LA Noire was bugging out on the last mission, & wouldn't let me progress, so I got CFW &... Finished the game.

Anyway my question is, is the console still modded when I swap out my HDD?

I use 2 HDDs with this console & the one that was inserted when I installed the CFW obviously boots with the 'REBUG' title card. But when I put my other HDD in, it boots with the original...

Hey guys, im fresh here. havnt had any problems with my console till i found it when i was moving to a diffrent apt. Seen some guy on this forum floating around talking about doing the Rebug updates without an usb. Problem is, i cant find my usb so that would really help. Anyone known if that exploit is released or naa

ps3 stuck on update loop

Hi, I have a ps3 chech 2101a that is stuck on a update loop I know from the owner that it originally had rebug 4.85 but he did the miskate of connecting to psn and updating the console. The BD drive aparently is working because it accept the disk and the blue light does turn on. Is there anyway to fix the update loop? or it was cause for install OFW on top of CFW?

Hello team. Made a thread last night regarding Updates/PUP via FTP. Managed to get online without any problem after that. now i keep getting the error code (8002A224). Been on the web for few hours now and i found nothing for my issue that works. Saw some video regarding downgrading again since u apparently cant use any "mods" when ur on 4.86
Would love if someone could help me thanks team!

Help needed I install PS3HEN Firmware 4.86 to update my PS3 Super Slim CECH 4003C it install & works fine & install Multiman n/p it works perfectly. but when try to update to 4.84.2_REX I get Corrupt Date 8002F957 around 70% I tried install it though Safe Mode & got another Corrupt Date 8002F2c5 can anyone help please

The compatibility list says it's unplayable but I've read in this forum before you can make it work doing some extra stuff but they never mentioned what those things were.

I want to play Patapon, any of them, 1, 2 or 3. Does anybody know what do I have to do in order for any of them to run?

I have a PS3 Super Slim model CEHC-4011B version 4.86.1 HFW with HEN installed. I also have Multiman and PSP Launcher and PSP Launcher Remastered if it's worth something.

Good morning everyone,

okay I successfully jailbreaked my PS3 PHAT (CECHC04) installed REBUG-4.86.1-LITE-NoBD got everything set up correctly everything works fine, PS3 ISOs and PS2 ISOs etc etc etc.... except for one thing which is the PS2 games boot normally but are not detecting the PS3 controller and asking to insert a dualshock2 controller,
PS3 ISOs work fine, PS2 games work fine on a PS2
what should I do?

+ PS3 PHAT CECHC04
+ System Firmware : REBUG_4.86.1_LITE_NoBD by Joonie...

I have a jailbroken FAT PS3 with its original 60GB hard drive on CFW REBUG_4.85.1_LITE how do I upgrade the HDD, I know where it has to go but do I use an option in the settings of the XMB or do I have to re-jailbreak the PS3?

Hello!

I recently bought a fairly new CECHA00 PS3 mostly for PS1 and PS2. After updating to 4.86 patching my NAND, I ended up installing the LITE version of Rebug 4.86.1 since there's no REX. Everything went smoothly. I tried playing my PS1 and PS2 games region free and it was amazing. Now, the only thing that annoyed me was the swapped X/O on JP PS3's, so I figured I needed REX so I QA flagged and downgraded. All good. This time though, PS1 games from out of the region won't work, but JP...

Hy im going to buy a ps3 in couple of week's so im here thinking im gonna jailbreak it But im still not 100% sure what exploit should i use, i first said that im gonna pick cfw but i could brick my system So like what are the chances that cfw i going to brick my system and does PS3HEN have all the features that cfw does if so im just gonna take HEN (sorry if this question has been asked 1000 times)

Hello. I have a refurbished CECHE01 that I've dumped the flash using bguerville's PS3 Toolset, and when I run that dump through PyPS3Checker, it returns 3 warnings. My PS3 is on OFW 4.86, and was updated from 4.85 about an hour before the first dump was produced. My PS3 doesn't appear to be any sort of limited or special edition, it appears to be just a normal CECHE01.

I've installed 4.86 three times: once from the XMB to update from 4.85 using the official Update via Internet option, and...

Updating 4.20 OFW DEX firmware to Rebug

A fellow ps3 developer has a slim PS3, it was on storage for years. It had DEX 3.60 firmware on it.

Recently he wanted to updated it, and used 4.20 OFW DEX firmware from here:

What would be the right way to update that PS3 to 4.84 Rebug D-REX, so he can get back into ps3 development?

I think he needs to jailbreak it, but the PS3 Toolset only works with 4.82+ firmware, and since he's on DEX he can't...
