I'm currently on CFW 4.83 Overflow v8. Is it safe to just "update" to Rebug 4.82.2? Do I need to change something in settings? I know that QA flag should be enabled for that, but there is no such setting in Overflow CFW.

I was wondering if I should change the fans settings for my Slim CECH-2504B?
I play mostly on headphones so I honestly don't care about noise.
But when I set the fans to 100% the console freezed, and I had to restore system to get it back going.

Best tool to backup games?
What is the best tool to backup games from original BluRay discs and save them as ISO images on PS3 HDD?
BTW
If I already have a game copy on my PC, can I just put the files in f.i. WinISO and save it as ISO? Will it work online (disabled syscalls, unloaded webman etc...)?

guys, apologies in advance you’ve probably seen this question a millions times but I’ve become overwhelmed with all the different guides and method to add cfw to the ps3. There seems to be so many different methods and variations.
I’m currently using a slim 25xx on 4.82 ofw. My bt and WiFi chips seem screwed so going to jailbreak to Cfw and update without needing this chip.

HAN, FFX HD remaster cloud save
Hey all, I have a PS3 SS with ps3xploit HAN. I have have FFX HD on both my Vita and my PS3, and want to use cross save, but since the FW update of 4.83 I cannot connect to the cross save, it just tells me to update to that OFW. Is there a way around this, or am I just boned. I have followed the steps to block the update servers, but it still keeps telling me I need to update.

So, making a long story short...
I had this old laptop laying around with a 500GB HDD, while my PS3 HDD was around 200GB...
I switched the hard drives around....
Now let's talk about 4.83 if you accidently upgraded...
- In a way would it be technically possible to take out the HDD of your PS3, put it in a laptop
- Then start the laptop with a bootable HIREN Boot CD USB pen drive...
- Reformat the PS3 HDD in the laptop with the tools in HIREN boot CD...
- Then make a USB Pendrive with...

Old Fat PS3 came back from the dead - I want to mod it!
So I decided to go tinker with my old phat CECHE01 PS3 that was dead. I replaced its power ribbon cable and now it is working.
System version is something like 4.30 IIRC. No mods, no HAN, it's a legit console that only ran OFW since day one.
I want to CFW it and do all the crazy stuff a FAT BC PS3 can do! Also I want to install the Fan Utility because even though I've repasted it with quality thermal paste it still goes pretty loud even on the XMB.
What do you guys recommend? I don't have...

Hello All, i didn't played and used my PS3 for a while.
I'm still on Rogero 4.46 v1.01 and the last OFW released now is 4.83.
I kindly ask you a suggestion what to do, my main purposes are:
-play backups
-go online for some online gaming (i know is not safe and betetr not) and Amazon Video
Should I keep CFW I have (Rogero 4.46 v1.01) and get SEN enabler or Spoof 4.83 firmware, will this work?
Or update to a most recent CFW? which one?
I've heard of Cobra but I'm not sure i need all the...

i install ofw 3.55 dex on my ps3
then update to cfw rebug 4.82 dex

I also have a 1tb seagte ext hard drive fat32 that has my games loaded and was working with the old multiman... Now multiman will to see or show me the games, it will see the hard drive in the MMos under HDD DEV_001 ... The game files which are stored under "games/z" are all in a folder named "game"

Hello folks.
I'm looking forward to get a jailbroken console for the first time. I already have a PS3 super slim but I don't want to have it jailbroken since I want to keep it legit. However I am eyeing on some jailbroken PS3 units that I could have some games injected on it.
I know that PS3 CFWs have PS2 emulation going on, but is it any good?
The PS2 games I wanted to play are as follows:
