Newbie needing help changing blu-ray regions.

Primarily, I use the PS3 more for watching films/shows than for playing games at this point in time. I recently purchased a region-free blu-ray player, but that sack of crap doesn't seem to work for half the discs I give it. Purchased one film that just won't work on it (region B). Browsing around online, I determined that I could make this happen by installing Multiman. Well, that didn't work.

I have a region A NTSC PS3 (CECHE01; NAND). The firmware is 4.82. After doing that one...
