I'm currently using PS3HEN on Firmware 4.88. I have a tool that needs me to have a PSN account connected to the system in order to Activate the .pkg based Games that I have downloaded.
I was gonna create a new account, but I got a prompt saying "Access to Sony Entertainment Network from this system was banned or temporarily suspended."
I've heard that there are some ways to get around this, but all the tutorials I've found were from over a year ago, so I'm not sure if they will work now....
