A fellow ps3 developer has a slim PS3, it was on storage for years. It had DEX 3.60 firmware on it.
Recently he wanted to updated it, and used 4.20 OFW DEX firmware from here:

What would be the right way to update that PS3 to 4.84 Rebug D-REX, so he can get back into ps3 development?
I think he needs to jailbreak it, but the PS3 Toolset only works with 4.82+ firmware, and since he's on DEX he can't...
