dusted off old ps3, should I upgrade fw?

So, found my old ps3 and wanted to play some games stored on the hdd. Took a few times to remember how to load them.

But should I try to upgrade the fw? Currently on fw 3.41, my first "hack" was with a dongle as i remember.

Only problem is I dont remember anything from that time getting the games to work
